This is a 3 day trail work project on Sawtooth Creek Trail # 109 in the St. Joe Ranger District of North Idaho. The trail is along the N boundary of the Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area, between it and the Snow Peak Wildlife Management Area. The trail has been unmaintained for a long time but will afford a great connector trail into the interior lakes when it is brought back to condition. We'll car camp at Table Camp nearby so we'll just need to pack in the day's tools each day. The project will include lots of brushing, some blowdown removal, and tread repair. No experience necessary, we train on the job. Bring your own camping and hiking gear, gloves and long pants for work times, food and water for use on the trail. The Mountaineers will provide tools and safety gear. Hard hats are recommended and glasses/safety glasses required. We'll circulate the roster as it develops so people can arrange carpools if they want. Its about a 4 - 4.5 hour drive from Hayden, but regardless of where you depart from, plan to meet at 12:00 at Table Camp. With sign-up, we'll send a more detailed info sheet and specific driving directions. If interested, contact leaders so we can start building a roster.
