*11/24 update: I Nordic skied today, and the snow is about a foot deep! There will likely be some melting between now & Friday, but at this point snowshoes are recommended for this hike.***The annual Opt Outside hike! Location subject to change depending upon conditions, but this can be a good last chance to hike/snowshoe to Quartz Mountain Lookout before SnoPark season begins on December 1st, so that is my goal for this hike. Check here for conditions updates as the date approaches, as this may be a regular hike or snowshoes may be necessary. Hike is approximately 6 miles RT on the Nordic trail system, starting & finishing from the Selkirk Lodge parking lot. If conditions are good and the group would like, we can consider continuing on to Horse Mountain. Moderate difficulty and we'll hike with a steady pace. Expect much colder/windier conditions on the mountain and dress in layers; bring snacks + the 10 essentials (I hope to finish up around lunch time). Have a face mask available in the event there is a reason to be in close proximity with others. Dog-friendly with leash required, and pet owners must pick up after their pets. Discover Pass required at the TH.
