Come out to CDA to learn about the 1964 Wilderness Bill and more, brought to us by the Idaho Fonservation league
Wilderness Talk with George Wuerthner
ICL and Friends of the Scotchman Peaks Wilderness welcome renowned activist, photographer and author George Wuerthner to Coeur d’Alene. Wuerthner worked as a wilderness ranger in Alaska, has written 38 books on America’s wild places and currently serves as Advocate-Organizer for Wilderness Watch. Wuerthner is also this year’s winner of the Fund for Wild Nature’s Grassroots Activist of the Year Award.
Join us for a presentation on ‘Why Wilderness.’ Learn about the history of the wilderness movement leading up to the 1964 Wilderness Act, the need for more wilderness areas, and threats to existing wilderness areas. Wuerthner will also focus on proposed Idaho wilderness areas such as Scotchman Peaks and Great Burn.
Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to Wuerthner and connect with other members of the North Idaho conservation community. Doors open at 6 pm and the presentation begins promptly at 6:30 pm. A no-host bar is available.
