***Due to a forecast of mountain rain & no visibility, this event is cancelled.*** Weather permitting: Solstice snowshoe hike and see the "great conjunction" at Mount Spokane State Park. Exact route TBD but will be minimum 4.5 RT & over 1000' elevation gain (to one of the summits: either Mount Spokane or Mt. Kit Carson). I'm hoping to see sunset (4:01pm), then get to a good place to view the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction (see https://www.krem.com/article/weather/accuweather/5-top-astronomy-events-december-2020/507-4e2f7ffd-4538-45c9-a185-0de08ca8f533 for more information). Dog-friendly for snow-loving pups escorted by responsible humans (leash, poo pick-up required). SnoPark permit required. Please plan to maintain 6' distancing requirments at all times, but also have a facemask available. Group size limited to 5 total; RSVP required. Event will be cancelled if weather forecast is not favorable for viewing the night sky.
