From cleanups to trail building. We've got a great group of volunteers!

Big Rock Trail Work - Sept 2009 - September 2009
Washington Trails Assn and the Spokane Mountaineers built a trail to the Rocks of Sharon from Stevens Creek Road. Those helping are forever going to own a piece of this Big Rock.
Backpacking with tools, July 2007 - July 2007
For the past several summers volunteers from the Spokane Mountaineers have teamed up with Conservation Northwest, the Backcountry Horsemen, and other outdoor enthusiasts to do some much-needed trail work in the Colville National Forest. This summer one of the trail work sessions was done as a backpack trip -- volunteers carried all of their usual backpacking equipment, plus some bow saws and two cross-cut saws. The following pictures were taken in the first trail work session in this area -- from the Thunder Creek trailhead to the Shedroof Divide trail, and then north on the Shedroof Divide. Approximately seven miles of trail were cleared using only hand tools over the course of two days.
